RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Kage - 05-24-2016

Kage looked back at the group. "Well, should we begin?"

RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Lilly Mato - 05-24-2016

"So, you're saying we're more than likely near the breeding ground of an incredibly magical water dragon?" Lilly said, twirling one of the slicker feathers between her fingers.

"That's just great." she added.

RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Magikeeper - 06-01-2016

"Agreed", noted a somewhat glum Dalton. He motions for Kage to get started. "We should try to make this quick - at this point I'd rather stay overnight than risk a nighttime journey and I do not want to stay overnight".

The rocks were close enough to make things easy for Kage, at first anyway. He notes their are roughly four paths of stones to the cliff - the first looked like an easy path to and up the cliff but would put him close to a half-submerged cave entrance, the second lead to the steep but climbable wall with a clearish path to the top of the cliff, the third would involve moving past several low (but not submerged) caves. The fourth path would require at least twice as much hopping about as the others, including a few longer jumps, to even reach the cliff but led to a sizable tunnel entrance that almost looked like it had footholds carved into the cliffside - it'd also be the easiest bit of cliff to climb all the way to the top.

OOC: Say, how are you getting from boat -> rocks, anyhow? As noted before, Dalton isn't bringing the ship within 30' of the many rocks jutting out of the water between you and the cliff.

RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Kage - 06-01-2016

Nodding at the go ahead, Kage had previously marked the second path up. He called forth Kaia, as he would need her help when they went to place the pitons. He grabbed the ropes, pitons, and carabiners and slipped them into his pocket void. He took one rope, and tied it onto the mast. That would leave a place for the others to get across without getting into the water. He had Kaia lift that rope above the water and follow above him as he dove in. Mid jump, he shifted his suit into a suit with flippers and used Skein. Hopefully preventing the water from touching him would prevent the disturbances from triggering enemies. He began swimming to the cliff face, and upon getting there, he used Tip to generate some climbing spikes on his hands and feet as his suit shifted to be lightweight and have a belt with various places to clip onto.

If he made it this far, he would begin climbing to the first point he had marked, and once he got there would pull out a piton, anchor it, connect a rope and carabiner, and tie off the rope Kaia was carrying. If successful, he would begin climbing up to the next point and repeat the anchoring process so the others could easily climb up.

Lilly leaned over the edge of the ship as Kage made his way across to the shore, keeping a close eye on the waters around him. If something were to stop him tying off those ropes she'd have to swim across the gap herself. He fingers danced back and forth on the railing as her eyes scanned the waters and shore. She kept a particular eye on the caves.

RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Castor Phecda - 06-10-2016

Castor waited nervously. Their plan seemed the best for the circumstance although it didn't cover all of his concerns. The ship was still in fairly deep water. They would be leaving the ship soon so Castor decided he would try once more to see what was in the water beneath them. If not the dragon then maybe a bit more of that flat object. They weren't too far from where he had dropped the last stone, he thought. It was hard to tell how far they had traveled.

He took another stone from his pocket, held it in his hand until its form was imprinted on his mind then, placing his hand with the rock into the water so as not to splash, released it to sink to the bottom.

RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Magikeeper - 07-02-2016

While swimming Kage brushed against what looked like a small aquatic drake. Assuming he kept going there were no other disturbances of note along his chosen path. He did, however, faintly hear something that sounded like the sound of someone shouting in the distance (beyond the top of the cliff).

-----

Lilly noticed something moving around in the half-submerged cave. It looked large, but possibly not dragon-large. It was hard to tell. The other caves definitely had a few drasil in them.

-----

Castor noticed that his next stone went much deeper this time. The boat definitely wasn't that far from its previous position, at least not as far as ocean geography would be concerned.

RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Kage - 07-03-2016

Thankful that his quick brush had been just that, he continued setting the rope supports for everyone else. When he reached teh top, he would slowly look over the edge and try to see who or what was shouting.

RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Lilly Mato - 07-12-2016

Lilly was not encouraged by the amount of movement she saw, especially since even a few drasil could mean trouble for them. She waited eagerly for the rope supports to be put in place, intent on climbing over to the cliff as soon as physically possible.

"This was stupid, I'm so stupid, blighted dragons..." she muttered to herself.

RE: Trip to Slant Rock Isle - Magikeeper - 07-21-2016

Kage

Peeking over the edge revealed that whoever he heard shouting must either have quite the voice or swift legs - there wasn't a soul in sight.

Then he hears more yelling in the distance. The rapidly shrinking distance.

----

Lily

The rope supports were ready for climbing! All that remained was reaching it.

The waters of the partially submerged cave was still and silent, the only waves those coming from the sea.
