Appearing to be in his late twenties, Barnabas is very pale skinned human with a shock of bright red hair, usually spiked atop his head. He has the lean build of a fencer or dancer. Around him is a makeshift camp with several covered wagons. There are a lot of people milling about looking like they are gathering things together to set off.
He stood way from the main body of the group so that he could oversee. Anyone approaching could clearly tell he was the one calling the shots.
A woman approached on a borrowed horse, her long red hair flapping about like it had no self respect. She approached Barnabas, and dismounted with all the grace and agility of another horse dismounting a horse.
"Hey, you look like someone who's in charge around here. You got a certain ... I don't know what."*
He turned to look at the newcomer and paused. After a look up and down he shrugged. "Yup. You look like you need something to do. Want me to give you a task now, or are you waiting for the escort part of things?"
He gives a lighthearted laugh at her easy mistake. "Sounds good to me. If you wanna whip up some food while we wait for more guards feel free. Otherwise just stay out of the way of the folk packing up. Name's Barnabas. Nice to make your acquaintance."
"Thanks! I'm Golan. I'll just set up a fire and I'll let you know when the curry is hot."
Golan tied up her horse nearby, and set up a small campfire, where she started to prepare some Curry. Player characters who ate some would gain the benefit of Vigor. Mmmm, tasty.
Noah was riding Finnigan down a dirt pathway, his large Tonfas attached to Finnigan's saddle. Noah had recently dyed his hair from his natural white to a deep red using some ink. V claimed it would help with disguising himself. Noah had a very bored expression on his face. He sighed loudly "V are we there yettttt... we have been traveling for days. You said Kuanepi was close like eight hours ago!" V remained patient with the child, this after all the kid hadn't really traveled before escaping that house. "If that is the attitude you have now, you will not be able to do this job. This job will require patience and focus. Should we turn back around and head back to that inn. I am sure Shirley the innkeeper would enjoy your assistance around the inn again." Noah frowned ".... No... I can be patient and focused! I promise!" "Good! Because we are here. Now do not let anyone know about your powers... or me... until necessary. I will take over when is necessary." Finnigan stopped walking for a second and looked towards the make shift camp, Noah looked over where Finnigan was looking and nodded agreeing to what V said. Finnigan walked right into the camp, towering over the size of the horses and people around. Noah did his best to sit up straight and not look nervous. Finnigan walked along side of Barnabas and Noah looked down at the man. "Hello are you Mr. Barnabas? I found your flier and want to help." He smiled as he showed Barnabas the flier he got from the inn a few days ago. Finnigan's gaze seemed to be looking around, as to observe their surroundings. Finnigan noticed Golan in the distance cooking food and V chuckled softly inside Noah's head as if he sees it as well.
He looked more at the elk than Noah. He gave an assessing look at it then turned to the apparent child. [b]"If you think you can help then you are welcome to try. We aren't responsible for whatever injuries befall you on the journey, and you only get paid when the families make it to their destination. Just stay out of the way for now and we will be heading out once everyone is packed and the other escorts have arrived."]/b]
V saw Barnabas's eyeing the elk and Finnigan turned to look right at Barnabas, his brown eyes seem to slightly pulsate between hazel and brown, the elk snorted loudly. Noah nodded, "I understand, and I believe I can assist! My name is Noah and this is Finnigan my elk. We will stay out of the way for now." Noah gently patted Finnigan's neck. Finnigan turned away at those words and began walking over to Golan. He walked up right behind Golan, the elk's eyes settling into a solid brown. Finnigan gingerly and lovely nudges the back of Golan's head with his mouth, as if to beg for attention. Noah seeing finally that its Golan gets excited. "GOLAN!" Noah jumps off of Finnigan and lands firmly on the ground, he then runs up to her and gives her a big hug. V chuckles in Noah's head at the kid's excitement.
V smiled internally as Noah hugged her tightly and then smiled "Hehe! Don't worry Golan the weirdos did not get me! I am fine! Oh I am getting stronger! I managed to lift 4 sacks of flour at once the other day! Look!!!! He flexes his bicep and shows Golan a really toned muscle for a kid such his age. He smiles brightly at Golan. Finnigan seeing an opportunity open up, hones in on the curry and starts eating it off the ground. Noah doesn't seem to notice, and V... doesn't care that he is eating it.
"Four sacks? At the same time? Those poor flour sacks. How can they feel safe when rogue sack-lifters are out there? Even in groups, the terror continues."
