Lilith Mato-Mendez - Lilly Mato - 12-22-2015 At A Glance Name: Lilith Mato-Mendez AKA: Lilly Mato Age: Restless Race: Half-Fatascuro Appearance: Lilly is a slight little thing, and probably would have been so without her fey parentage. As it is she stands an inch under five feet with the wiry build of a gymnast. Her ebony hair is completely wild if not pulled back into a tight, short tail, a thick and tangled mess that takes an eternity to get straight. Her eyes are shocking crimson colouration and seem to dart around rooms just a little too much. Apparel: Lilly's outfits change fairly often but there is not one among us who is not a creature of habit. She usually ends up wearing a sleeveless blouse in a dark shade, a matching long sleeved jacket and loose flowing trousers with her comically huge black boots. Background: Lilly's mother was never the same once her father moved on, leaving her alone with a small child and without the euphoria of his presence. It took years for the depression to finally take its toll and by that time Lilith had already left home. For a long time, Lilly sulked around Avarka, skipping from town to town trying to fight off a constant malaise. One night she spotted a particularly annoying Tiburon noble wandering about and decided to liberate him of his watch. From that night on, Lilly had found a way to fight off the depression her father had left behind, chaos. Affecting change on the world made her feel better, so she would change as much as she could. Aspects, Talents and Skills Warming Presence - Lillith has inherited a little something from her father; a presence that affects those around her as though radiating outward. - Spreading Warmth - Lilly's mere presence is a little like a nip of brandy, it warms the cold spots and loosens the tongue just a little. - Feel the Heat - As a half fatascuro, Lilly has an innate sense of the levels of physical yearning and lust a given group is experiencing. With a little magical push she can inflame this to make those around her more likely to act on those feelings. Our Lady of Flames - Lillith has a relationship with flames and fires. They seem to whisper to her, waiting for commands as if she were their master. Lilly finds learning fire spells comes more easily to her than others and her efforts in that regard are more frequent and forceful. [Fire Branded ; Lord of Flames] 0 - Natural flames, extreme heat and your own conjured fire refuse to hurt you, their master. 1 - You may take hold of non-magical flames with your hands and move them from place to place, your magic fuels them while held. 2 - You may alter your fire spells to instead produce Phantom Flames. Bright red, phantom flames are twice the size of normal flames but burn with negligible heat. 3 - You may alter your fire spells to instead produce Dark Flames. Pitch black, dark flames are slightly hotter than normal flames but give off no light as they burn. 4 - Your mastery of non-magical flames is such that you can cause them to come free from their sources and flow through the air like water under your command. Flames removed from fuel sources will eventually be extinguished by this movement unless they find a new home. 5 - You may alter your fire spells to instead produce Frostbite Flames. Bright cerulean, frostbite flames burn cold and are the perfect foil to heat resistant foes. Items and people burned with frostbite flames are coated in a thin layer of painfully cold frost. Our Mistress of Blades - A gift from a wintry fey in exchange for a small amount of something interesting. Lilly has been granted the ability to mould a small amount of ice to do her bidding. [Levelled by Water Magic] 0 - Lilith's skin contains a thin, barely visible layer of ice beneath the surface. The ice is almost as tough as leather and slowly refreezes after breaking or thawing. In hot weather or when surrounded by flames, the ice causes the skin to completely pale. 1 - Lilith can secrete water from her hands and form simple objects out of it. Using a spell per post she may then freeze the item, creating a fragile object no larger than a cubic foot. The ice can be of any colour, and transparency. Any unused liquid evaporates immediately. 2 - Lilith develops an innate understanding of how temperature flows between objects. Lilith's ice creations can be quickly formed with fire deflecting or chilling properties. Redistribution Specialist - Lilly has a driving need to affect change on the world in one way or another. Since she also needs to eat, she has made it her profession. Whether someone needs artwork liberate from someone else's vault or a person to be moved from this life to the next, Lilly Mato can change things for you. [Forged Road] - Deft Hands - Lilly is trained in basic lock picking and is able to lift small items without notice. - Surprise is Important - There is no point in being able to get through a locked door in the dead of night if you make the noise of a tavern while doing so. Lilly is trained in stealthy movements and is mindful of the myriad ways her body can betray her. Spells and Magics Fire Spells 1 - Warm - Slightly stoke the heat of a target, warming an object or making a cold person feel warm or an already warm person feel discomfort. 2 - Fireball - Summon into your hand a semi-solid ball of flame that can be thrown. On impact it explodes with the force of a strong punch. 2 - Snuff - Disrupt an existing non-magical flame. Can extinguish smaller fires and weaken larger ones. 3 - Torch - Release from your fingertip a 2" jet of intense flame capable of cutting through metal over time. 4 - Endure - Your body can tolerate extreme heat far longer than other creatures, and you can safely breath carbon monoxide and other toxic gasses for short periods of time (a few minutes). [Passive] 5 - Summon Fire Aspect - Summon a small wildcat made of living flame. A 'lethal' blow disperses the flame. The wildcat can create and maintain a single copy of itself from any suitably large non-magical flame. Water Spells 1 - Filter - Wave your hand over up to a gallon of water to remove any minor impurities from it. Weapons, Accessories and Valuables Old Reliable - A sap crafted from a fire-touched drake bone, lightweight but delicately carved with waving lines. [Modifier 3] - Heatwave - Items struck by Old Reliable are heated by its magic, successive impacts may cause conductive weapons to be difficult to hold and multiple strikes to the head are likely to cause heatstroke. Smokeform Boots - Boots of charred looking black leather, veined with cracks that seem to lie beneath the surface of the material. Despite looking about two sizes too big, these boots are perfectly comfortable and cause no tripping hazard. [Modifier 1] - Smokeform - Allows the wearer to temporarily transform themselves into an immobile cloud of smoke for up to three posts, after which they must wait two posts before doing so again. If the cloud is disrupted by a solid object/person they immediately reform in a powerfully dazed state, negating the blow but leaving them unable to cast spells and do much besides stumble about during their next post. RE: Lilith Mato-Mendez - Magikeeper - 12-26-2015 Quick comments while you're still putting things together: Well of Vitality - If you could put [Ancestral Mass] next to that (with whatever formatting you prefer) that'd be appreciated. I know what it is but it would help other people less used to seeing folk rename abilities. Tainted Well - Generally fine, people might not RP being "weary" as being very debilitating (I don't assume you intend it to be, though). As written I'd say humans can resist the healing suppression / weariness, but probably wouldn't notice the aging effect (and thus wouldn't know to actively resist it until it was too late). What do you imagine "close proximity" as being? Peer into Darkness - Sounds fine (since you have a level 2 vital spell anyway), player controlling the target determines what is seen. I'd throw in an example as well - perhaps the spell reveals the sensation of being hated by everyone, without explaining if the target's fear is at all rational. The sensation of being powerless. The sensation of failing. Anyway, I don't think human resistance ability or similar effects applies here. Edit: Feel the heat is fine. If humans know it is going on (or have some personal aversion to such a display, either in general [sir prudish the chaste] or in that specific situation [Miss hates the guts of everyone here, even if they are hot]) they could presumably resist it though, something to keep in mind. At A Glance Name: Agnes Mercurius Age: 23 Race: Born Shifter Appearance: Agnes cuts an imposing figure, standing almost seven feet tall and quite broad shoulders. Her skin is pale and her frame is lithe and slight in the way many avian shifters tend towards. Her eyes, small, bordering on beady, are silver with perfectly triangular pupils. Her facial features are angular and sharp, giving her a very severe countenance that doesn't quite soften when she smiles. Her jet black hair is kept short, partly because it is perpetually sticking out in every conceivable direction. Shifted: Agnes' shifted form is even more imposing than her normal demeanour. Her black hair turns to feathers giving her a fearsome plumage extending up and back over her shoulders. Her fingers elongated out into a talons and her already angular features harden into a psuedo-beak. Most striking of all (especially in Avarka), Agnes' shifted form possesses an additional pair of eyes, set where he temples would otherwise be. When shifted Agnes' pupils flood with colour, turning from a dull silver to a brilliant gold. Apparel: Agnes' everyday outfit might be mistaken for those of a monk or priest, uncoloured flowing robes and trousers, cinched close with a black silk sash. What sets her ensemble apart however is long black coat, trimmed with gold thread and a matching pair of black leather boots, toes capped with what appears to be solid gold. Background: Not long after Agnes was born, a group of robed figures appeared at her parents' home and explained that she needed to live with them. Obviously they did not agree to hand over their daughter. The robed figures returned that night and took Agnes home. The Monastery of Crows raised Agnes correctly, and though she sometimes wondered if she might go back and meet her birth parents, she was told she had more important matters to attend. Aspects, Talents and Skills Called by Storms - Agnes has a natural affinity for wind and storms, capable of learning all manner of spells that call upon those forces. [Storm-Called] - Whispers of a Murder - Agnes' constantly hears a faint song from the skies, that to her sounds like a melodious cawing of crows and ravens. It provides her comfort, stability and eases her pains. [Sky Song] 1 - By listening to the song, Agnes can divine information about local weather patterns and conditions, and sometimes predict oncoming severe weather. 2 - Using a spell per post, Agnes can make the song audible to others. Its volume anything from soft and quiet to painfully loud. To Fight in Darkness - Agnes' has a natural affinity for both the light and the dark, manifest in her Umbral aspect. [Umbral Soul] - See the Darkness - Even without shifting, Agnes' eyes are sight to behold, silver and black and shifting as she focuses on different effects. [Visionary] 0 - Agnes may focus on the magic in an area, seeing it as faintly glowing light. 1 - Agnes can choose to filter out certain wavelengths of light, allowing her to better see distant objects or specific colours. 2 - Agnes' eyes naturally manipulate light as it enters them, granting her natural telescopic vision and adding ultra-violet to her visible spectra. Spells and Magics Storm Spells Agnes may cast one 3rd Level or lower Storm spell each post as a bonus. 1 - Drift - Thicken the air beneath you just enough that if you are falling it slows your decent and allows for a soft landing. 2 - Deafen - Completely still the air around a target's ears preventing any sound from reaching them. Use will rarely go unnoticed. Umbral Spells When Agnes uses her spell per post to cast an Umbral spell, she may instead cast two instances of that spell, spreading its effects. 1 - Visage - Manipulate the shadows on your face to trick the eye into misjudging your facial features. 2 - Blind - Scatter the light before a target's eyes, blinding them for the briefest of moments. Weapons, Accessories and Valuables The Gilded Blade - A blackened steel long sword, its edges lined with gold that seems impossible sharp. Leather working around the hilt invokes a feather motif. [Modifier 1] - Iconic - The Gilded Blade is a remarkable facsimile of a real legendary type weapon, it appears as though it is made of the strongest of materials.
