Ria smiles and leads the way, " Of course! Let's get you a bit more awake. You may sit wherever you like, we have a spot in the kitchen, living room, and main inn area. There is a guest in the living area if you want company. There is also Silkie and myself, Silkie is a wind sylph and cannot be seen inside the realm. Just to warn you in case you see anything floating. She wanted to make sure the man was not alarmed by Silkie's voice coming from either the music player or just out of air... or the floating objects. She opens the door and points to the left. " The living room and main inn areas are off to the left, the kitchen is just up ahead. I'll be in the kitchen making dinner and I should have your tea out shortly. " She smiles at Nathan giving him the option to sit wherever he would like. She walks into the kitchen and begins to make more tea, already seeing that Silkie must have made some for Hayze.
Silkie watched as the page darkened. She smiled and hoped the shadow enjoyed it. " I can.. manipulate things with air, but I cannot touch objects, I phase through them. But I can smell.. and taste!... well.. those two are kinda mixed together. It is kind of like tasting the air. Like right now it tastes like peppermint, hops, herbs, and meat!... but I can taste whats in kitchen right now too so its more like, what you can smell I can taste. I hope that makes sense."
He thought it made sense. She had such a strong sense of smell that she could taste from a distance. He breathed in through his nose, trying to smell what was in the kitchen. If the sylph was smelling meat it must be raw. He couldn't imagine Ria had finished butchering the deer and was already started on the stew. Especially with another guest arriving.
He sat up straight in his chair, realizing that he hadn't been properly alarmed at the notion of another person joining him. "Go check it out. He said to his shadow with a nod of his head in the direction of the kitchen.
The shadow moved quickly out of the room without a word. After a moment it came back. "There's some huge guy here. He looks like a bear but... made of black rock? A black-rock-bear-guy!"
Hayze wasn't sure what he was talking about. Surely it wasn't anything that dramatic. He nestled back into his chair and looked in his tankard. It was about half empty. He always drank too fast.
Nathan proceeds to walk into the living room and sit in the first chair he sees. While siting down, he notices the 'other guest'. "Hello there. Seems like we both stumbled into a strange place eh." Nathan said, trying to break the ice.
Ria makes the tea and calls for Silkie to deliver it and the front door can be heard being opened as Ria walks out to finish the deer. After a moment or so Silkie floats a tray over to Nathan and sets it on a coffee table in front of him. Silkie's voice comes out of the music player, "Ria said this has a touch of caffeine in it, to help you perk awake. She is wondering if you guys would prefer Venison stew, or some Venison Steaks? orrr anything else deer related. " She giggles at the last part.
"I'd like the steak please. Meat was portioned in my village, so we mostly had meat as jerky or in stew. What about you... " Nathan said, trailing off as he indicates the other guest.
Hayze simply nodded at the man’s comment. It seemed his shadow was being totally serious about the guy’s appearance. But wasn’t there plenty of seating elsewhere? Realizing that he would be forced to converse even more than he already desired, he picked up his second shot of rum and downed it, followed by a swig of beer.
”Whatever can be prepared the quickest.” He responded. Not only was he very hungry, but at this point he just wanted to eat so he could leave. ”And which one is that? Bear village?” He asked, somewhat sarcastically. He really didn’t care where the guy was from, he just wanted to have some control over the conversation.
Silkie gives the guest an "okay" and then goes silent. Ria after a few minutes walks into the kitchen with A LOT of meat from the deer, and a floated container of it behind her. She begins to work on dinner being sure to make several steaks, roasted potatoes, and sauteed vegetable side. If the men listened carefully they could probably hear her humming as she cooked, and hear the speed of her knife hitting the cutting board. She spends some time making the food. (I will wait one more post from y'all then call her done with cooking. figured that would be a good timeframe.)
Silkie softly says from the music player, "Let me know if there is anything else you need! Dinner should be ready shortly! "
It seemed that this man did not want to talk at all. His tone sounded a bit rude and sarcastic, 2 traits that Nathan wasn't a fan of. "No it's not 'Bear Village', that would be ridiculous. My village has all sorts of shifters in it."
Hayze smiled. That was just the sort of reaction he was hoping for, although it didn’t exactly answer his question. Maybe he didn’t want to tell him. Perhaps it was for the best. If the man told him where he was from, then he would probably reciprocate and ask where Hayze was from. Not a direction he wanted the conversation to go.
Maybe he should just stick to sarcasm. If he annoyed him enough, maybe they could sit here quietly, not talking. It was curious, however, that two aspected individuals had stumbled across this place. He realized his shadow was under his feet again, probably hiding from the man. Whenever it was touching him it could affect his movements and sometimes his thoughts, if it tried hard enough. The alcohol certainly didn’t help him keep control.
“Sorry.” He blurted out, surprising himself again. “Trying to fight off a migraine.” He almost didn’t know what he was saying. The shadow was certainly softening his thoughts. “Where are you from exactly?”
Accepting his apology, Nathan answered, "Well, I'm from a mining village up north called Wilhelm. We mostly dig up copper, but we occasionally find an iron vein. Name's Nathaniel, what's your's?" He tries to make friendly with people he meets. mostly because it's the right thing to do, but partially because that's how he gets to learn more about the world outside his village.

Ria finishes up with cooking and puts everything on serving plates. Silkie has seemed to relay everything they said to Ria. And because of Nathaniel's comment Ria decided to make A LOT of food. She firmly believed no person should leave without a full stomach. She has around a 10 steaks, a mound of rosemary roasted potatoes, large bowl of sauteed spinach, and a large plate of some sauteed zucchini and squash, as well as a few optional sauces for the steak, and of course her secret bread and some fresh butter. She picks up two of the serving plates and uses magic to levitate the plate of spinach behind her. Silkie assists by levitating the other dishes. Ria walks through the living room, wonderful smells blast into the room as she enters from the food. "You boys ready for dinner? Come follow me, we shall eat at the dining table..It seems i went slightly overboard with the cooking again. We can chat as we eat. She smiles sweetly at both of them and walks down into the main inn area where the large dining table is and places everything down. The table seems to be already set, hinting that Silkie maybe set it up earlier while the men were chatting.. but it was set for four people.... not three.
“Haz...” He started to say. No! He was still in control. He wasn’t going back to giving out his full name just because he was a little drunk and his shadow was making his personality slightly more likable. “Hayze.” He corrected himself after shaking his head.
Shortly after, Ria walked in and a wave of delicious air came with her. He stood and followed to the dining area. Before he did, he finished his beer and grabbed his tea, taking it with him. He chose a seat and sat down. He looked at the fourth setting. “Will Silkie be joining us for dinner?” He said with a laugh. He wasn’t sure, after what he had learned about her, that she could eat physical food.

Nathan was glad that Hayze came around to polite discussion. "Well, its' nice to meet you Hayze."
I was only when Nathan got up to follow him that he realized that he had shifted out of his human form. 'Oh, so that's why he said bear village.' Nathan though, slightly embarrassed that he hadn't noticed that until now. He quietly shifted out of his anthro form and suppressed his Monolith aspect.
Arriving at the kitchen after Hayze, he overheard his fellow patron's question. "Who is Silkie? Is that another guest that I haven't met?" He said curiously.
Ria smiles as both the men join her at the dining table. She gets finished putting the food down. She looks at Nathaniel, she had told him about Silkie earlier but figured maybe he was too tired at that moment to have really remembered. "Silkie is the wind Sylph I mentioned earlier. She is invisible inside the realm so you cannot see her. She then looked at Hayze with a knowing eye. "That extra seat is a honor seat. If I have an extra seat available I like to set a plate and silverware for.. those who cannot eat but are still worth acknowledging. Like Silkie, or other spirits and things of that nature." She was including Hayze's shadow as well in that group.
Silkie floats the music player towards the dining table and a giggle comes out of it.
Ria takes a seat at the end of the table. "Please feel free to eat as much as you would like. I hope you do not mind me asking questions, I am curious. Feel free to not answer if you do not wish to. Where are you guys from? " She begins dishing out food for herself and a bottle of red wine floats over. She gestures it to each of the men, wondering if they would like some.
Ria seemed like a nice gal, so he had no problems with answering her question "Well, as I've told Hayze here, I'm from a mining village up north. It's called Wilhelm. It's filled with all sorts of shifters like myself. Well, I'm a little different from most, but you get what I'm saying."
