Dalton hold up a finger, mouthing "just a moment" before continuing to calm down Garza. There are a few more almost-yells, but Dalton succeeds in getting the squat man calm and drunk enough to not mind the hunter putting back the pouch he'd showed him a few minutes earlier.
"Okay, so here's what I know: my friend Casanov loves sharks. He might know of every group of them in the area, in fact. Why this matters is that sharks can sense blood in the water from far away. A few breeds can even differentiate between regular and more magical blood, or at least Casanov swears they can. The night Bertie died a whole mess of sharks started swimming towards the island. There also haven't been any sightings of this dragon, which suggests it isn't of the flying variety. With those things in mind, I'm betting this is because the dragon was either injured and in the water, or it killed Bertie's crew in the water. Either way, it swims."
Garza yawns a bit - apparently getting drunk makes him sleepy - but motions for Dalton to continue.
"Checking Casanov's notes, I noticed some sharks had also made a break in the general direction of the island the night the first merc group died. Combined with the lack of sightings I bet - but wouldn't wager my life on it - that the dragon hunts at night. The last thing you should know is I've got a number of tools prepared to hunt the dragon should it come down to it. Make no mistake - I don't want to hunt it now. Like Garza here I would rather go to the island, confirm my suspicions, and then come back another time."
