[Malber] [U] The Watering Hole
#21
"Ah." Arl relaxes a bit with the confirmation, finally taking the time to pick up one of the drinks and begin sipping it. That lasts all of two seconds before her caution fades enough for her to remember her thirst.

One chugged drink later, Arl turns back to Mr. Guardman. "Heh, sorry. Still a little dehydrated.. so, how large do we think this group is?"

Randall waved off Arl's apology with one hand, draining half of his own immediately afterwards.

"A dozen or so would fit with what I saw of the group previously. Couldn't be many more than that based on what some of the villagers tell me. Then again, at least a couple of them exaggerated when recounting the fires, claiming the thugs themselves were on fire."

Riesig let out a chuckle at the fire talks. "That is not exactly something that is impossible. Were there any aspected members of the thug group when you last met them?" He asked with interest as he drank a drink.

Randall's brow furrowed again as he thought back.

"Their leader was absolutely storm called, his control of wind was uncanny. Apart from that I think a couple of warriors and it's possible the twins were fire aspects... but I only ever saw them throw a fireball every now and then."

The man's posture seemed to slump a little as he related this last part, but soon reset itself.

Arl nodded along as she silently pondered various ways of confronting the bandit group. Three people might be able to take them down, but it'd be bloodier than she'd like. "Has anyone else answered your request for help or are we the first to arrive?"

"You two are the first to arrive, but I sent messages as far as Kuanepi so hopefully we shouldn't be alone."

Finishing all but the dregs of his drink, the warrior swirled the slightly gritty remnants round repeatedly.

"I'll admit, I'm now a bit concerned that more has changed than I'd like since they left Tiburon."

"With the potential changes, you got any specific plans? Or is the plan still basically get rid of them?" Riesig asked as he relaxed in his chair.

"That depends on what sort of skills you and any others bring to the table. It always make sense to work with what's available." Rand opened his hands towards the pair, inviting them to either state or demonstrate.

Riesig liked to show off, so he didn't really wait long after the offer to demonstrate. He used a dark flame Torch as his mist coiled down his arm to settle into a, basically useless but still cool looking, gauntlet around his hand below the torch. "Double aspected mage. Fire and Water." He would keep his shifter nature to himself, as he usually did, because having that as a surprise worked a lot better. Must just be the ambush hunter in him.

Arl claps at the display "Very impressive! How much combat experience do you have? Ah wait, I should share first before asking someone else.." The warrior turns back towards Mr. Guardman "I know some vital magic, basic healing magic and the like." She holds up her spear, willing it to begin contorting itself into the shape of a shield. "I have some combat experience as well, and I'm pretty good with a spear and with sword-and-shield. I'm also stronger than I look!"

Arl quickly glances back and forth before leaning closer to the others. "This is where I'd lift something heavy, but I don't think the tavern owner would appreciate me relocating the table."
