Rowen
#1
Bug
Rowen

Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 160
Strength: Strong
Physical Description: Rowen is a darkly tanned individual of slightly below average bulk, with very toned and chiseled flesh.
Apparel: Rowen wears appeasing light violet formal garments with golden vine-like embroidery. The two tails of his jacket end in sun bursts.

Backstory: Abandoned as a pup in the middle of nowhere, and forced to eat rocks to survive; he grew up in the wild mountain caves. A large sea sat within his cavern home. To his great fortune, the rocks had been magically infused over the ages; and, instead of killing him, they nurtured him. Rowen emerged from the cave as a human evolved beyond that of most others. His minimal personal upkeep facilitated a swift accrual of wealth upon his reintegration into society, albeit with several strange looks also being cast his way during times of consumption.

The Story Of Rowen: ~
Affiliations and Contacts:

Yes, He Eats Rocks: Rowen's stomach can digest mineral matter over time. He somehow doesn't die when he does this.
No, Really. He Eats Rocks: And obtains normal nourishment from them.
Human Magic Resistance:

Aspect: Warrior Prodigy
Storm – Leaping Dervish - It's harder to hit a moving target. You have learned the art of continuous movement while fighting.
Lvl 0 - The leaping dervish style relies heavily on the maneuverability of its practitioner. As such, novices of of the leaping dervish style first master basic acrobatics (superb balance, simple maneuvers, etc). You are no exception, and thus possess the equivalent of basic acrobatics training.

Aspect: Vital Heart
WAKING DREAMER - You posses a connection to the dreams and minds of others unheard of to most.

Lvl 0 – You are always aware of when you are dreaming unless you desire otherwise (some tasks such as vision quests may require you play along to benefit). You also remain aware of your surroundings in the waking world while resting. Furthermore, you gain complete control over your sleep cycle, allowing you to begin or end dreaming at a moment’s notice. Finally, you gain a personal dream realm of sorts that you can enter while dreaming – this realm does not otherwise really exist.
Lvl 1 – You can sense the presence of minds other than your own, allowing you tell roughly how many people are in an area (just you, a couple, a few dozen, etc). People actively trying to hide are not sensed by this ability.
Lvl 2 – You gain the ability to send a visionary dream to another while resting or meditating. You must be at least somewhat familiar with the target. The exact nature of the dream depends on the target, but your general point will make itself known. If the target is awake, they will receive the dream when they next sleep.
Lvl 3 - You learn to recognize thoughts related to you, and can pick out who and where they are coming from. The nature of those thoughts is still unclear to you, however (e.g, you know when someone is thinking about you but not what they are thinking). People actively trying to hide can still be sensed by this ability. Maximum range 1000'.
Lvl 4 – Your visionary dreams may include some sort of method of entering your dream realm for less opaque communication, although the recipient(s) can decline entry. You may now send a number of simultaneous visionary dreams equal to twice your level in this LT (8 at level 4) whenever you rest or meditate, but all of them must share the same intent. Furthermore, if the recipient is awake you can choose to send a visionary daydream instead.

Incredible Geological Knowledge: Rowen can identify most metals and stones at a glance and is an all around connoisseur of minerals.
Restraining Technique: A complicated debilitation technique that, with a minute or two of work, can render a foe virtually unconscious and unable to cast spells without risking permanent injury. Performing this technique on an unrestrained/still resisting foe is nigh impossible
Medical and Anatomy Training:
Lvl 1. Learn the position and location of the various non-fey races' major muscle groups, blood vessels. etc along with some basic first aid techniques. Half-fey are similar enough to humans/elves for this to cover them as well. Can be taken additional times to learn the anatomy of wildly different species/races.

Weapons and Armor
Axe Forgiveness, Not Permission: Rowen's steel battle halberd passes through living material causing pain and weariness instead of permanent harm and death (a "killing" blow results in unconsciousness). The axe does not pass through non-living material such as most armors. The axe's movements are particularly slowed by tough living materials (mod 2+ [stone+]).
His Purple Overcoat: Rowen can will any part of his overcoat to be as stiff and durable as iron.

Spells
Vital
Divine - Sense the presence of any fey or spirits around you and get a sense of their mood.
Share – Share one of your senses with a touched individual. This effect works both ways, and can be disorienting. This effect lasts 5 posts or until you cast this spell again. Pain counts as a sense
Anchor - Tether a target's life-force to their current location, causing them to feel a psychic pull towards that spot and weakening them the further they move from that location. Only lasts five posts and can only be cast on each target once per encounter.
Heal - By touch, accelerate a target's healing processes within a body part. Instantly heals bleeding and minor cuts. Will close more serious gashes over the next few posts. Will heal in a day what would normally take weeks. Once cast will keep healing that injury until done without requiring maintaining.

Magical Possessions:
Chain Link Sack (With Enveloping Runes): It's cool.

Non-Magical Possessions:
Basic living essentials! Stored in the sack. Rocks, bed rock, fancy rocks, flint, steel in the shape of a rock, one hundred feet of rope tied to a big pointy rock, 2 torches mounted on rocks.

Pets: A pine tree (Outside the cave). A table is set next to it to share meals with.

Gold: 0

Alright, so he grew up in a cave in the farthest northeast reaches of Avarka (just south of the Hiegenland) filled with one or more rocks that - over the ages - had been warped by the auroras to give the eater the ability to eat them instead of dying (or otherwise giving them some trait that mutated Rowen).

I am okay with that existing in the world. It wouldn't make sense for that exact power to be common, but it can exist, sure.

---
On Minors:

Axe and Coat are strong minors (2-2.5 minors), but the bag/being able to digest rocks/the geo knowledge/strength combined is probably only 2-2.5 minors. So, with the grand opening bonus, I'll allow it.

On the humans and the axe: I'd say humans can shrug off most axe blows, but a "lethal" blow probably knocks them out before they can shrug off the effect (although I suppose a human could ready themselves to shrug it off if they knew it was coming).

Anyway, approved. *Stamp*

Nuubee, who are you in relation to MK?

Nuubee is a friend of mine/Udo's. What gave that away?

Was it that he seemed to sign up and create a character in a single night, on New Year's, as though he were with two other people helping him?

Was it the way the Axe mechanics look like he had an idea and I changed it into a new, more technical version that takes into account a few weird corner cases that no one but MK would probably notice/care about, but no such discussion occurred on the forum?

Or is it that his backstory mentions a sea inside his cave, when it should be outside his cave, suggesting that I knew his backstory without carefully reading it (thus missing that typo)?

Or that his PC manages to be somewhat gimmicky, without setting any restrictions in stone (heh), while also being versatile and strong mechanically (Common MK PC trait, I suppose)? The puns and jokes in ability names and odd misc items as well. The jokes are mostly a coincidence, he just does that too (Okay, the names for "Yes, he eats rocks" were a group effort). Tongue

..Okay, yeah, I can see why someone would immediately jump to me being involved.

Sorry, I was inebriated and thought I was exposing a conspiracy or something. I should really put down my phone when I've been drinking
