Errol Jones, Dryadic Shifter
#1
Errol Jones
Race: Dryadic Shifter
Age: 17
Height: 5'11"
Build: Slim
Strength: Very Strong
Appearance: Errol remains in his shifted form at all times, reverting only when it would draw too much attention to him. A hair under six feet and lithely built, Errol wouldn't stand out much if it weren't for his rather obvious shifter features. Jutting out from above his temples and forming a somewhat crown like shape are a pair of antler-like branches. Almost jet black, they run in line with his scruffy mahogany hair and almost meet at the back of his head. His androgynous facial features are warm and inviting, his eyes an almost perfect leaf green marked by branch like tendrils of gold. The nails on his slender fingers are naturally pointed and darkened to give the appearance of thorns. Errol's skin is paler than most without appearing sickly, it is marked by a barely visible network of branching vines, in just the right light they shimmer gold.
Apparel: Errol wears an open chested cotton shirt under an equally open leaf green jacket. His trousers are deep brown colour, almost matching his hair and are made of a slightly heavier layered cotton. Dusty brown boots barely separate him from the earth, the soles worn so thin they may as well be socks.
Background: From a young age, Errol heard the whispers of the spirits around him quite strongly. They told him when it was going to rain, they told him when the wolves were prowling nearby and one time when he was a little older, they told him everyone was going to die. Errol tried to convince his parents to abandon their home but was unable to convince them of what he knew was going to happen. Errol, fearful for his life, left the village without his parents only to see a rock slide destroy the whole village soon after. Since then Errol has wandered, trying to make up for what he feels is his mistake by helping anyone he can, especially if it involves natural disaster.

Aspects, Talents and Skills
Earthen Whispers - Errol is able to hear something most others can't, the songs of living earth. Very occasionally, Errol is able to find and utilise living earth or stone using his vital magic. (Allows stone head for Harmonic Weapon. Any other uses at the discretion of quest runner due to the rarity of living earth.)
Harmonic Weapon - Some time after the death of his village, the whispers of spirits faded away to give way to one voice. A plant spirit bound with him and gave him a physical outlet for his guilt, a war hammer which Errol can call to him and always knows the location of. This connection has also altered Errol's appearance.
- Ties That Bind - With concentration, Errol is able to see unhealthy emotional ties as glowing threads in the air. The threads connect to people, items or locations they are unhealthily attached to, the colour reflecting the emotion binding them. Whenever he does this he also sees a dull grey thread connecting him to his hammer. [Lvl 2 HW]
Quakelord - As Errol grew a little older, he came to realise his sense of the rock slide that killed his family was probably partly due to his affinity for earth magic.
0 - Spinning, trembling and the like do not bother Errol and his body is somewhat resistant to attacks that rely on sound or vibrations.
1 - Errol may command the earthen materials beneath his feet to either soften or magnify his footfalls, allowing for a stealthy or intimidating approach.
2 - He may cause any earthen object he alone is holding to vibrate at a specific frequency, effectively increasing its modifier by one in clashes with other materials.
3 - Errol's sense of touch and hearing are merged together. This allows him to discern things about his environment that others would not, especially when it comes to movement or vibration. This sense allows Errol to tell what materials are in an area or item by tuning them with a light tap.

Earth and Vital Spells
1 - Sandblast - Release a burst of rough, scouring sand from your hand.
2 - Render - Your hands can mold non-magical, non-living stone as if it were clay, and can will parts of it to stick to your hands (protecting them) while this effect is maintained.
3 - Stoneshot - Stomp a foot on the ground to cause a chunk of stone or compacted earth to erupt into the air before you in the shape of a hand sledge. By gesturing in a direction while the stone is in midair you can launch it in that direction.

1 - Home - You can anchor a part of your life force to a single location ever. By casting this spell you will reconnect with that bit of your spirit and sense what is going on in that location. [The ruined village of Monre.]
2 - Peer - You are able to see and decipher other people's auras, revealing their emotions.
3 - Weave - Grow from the earth an inter-tangled mass of leafy vines and other plant life that knit themselves into any sort of simple woven object. The object can remain weakly attached to the earth, and lasts about a day if detached.

Weapons and Armour
The Heavy Burden - Errol's Harmonic Weapon, a massive war hammer constructed from natural materials. A four foot shaft of compressed and spiralled wood and leaves topped with a foot wide sledge of uneven living stone. Etchings along the staff are indecipherable but seem to be dear to Errol. The shaft branches just before the head, creating a few loops through which rope or other items might be threaded. [Modifier 3 - 1/3 Runes]
- Constant Weapon - The Heavy Burden is wielded by Errol as though second nature, and counts as part of his body for the purpose of casting spells. Errol can will The Heavy Burden to fly directly to his grasp from up to 120’ away with up to titanic force. Or repel it in an identical manner with up to mythic strength. [Lvl 1 HW]
- Loyal Weapon - Intense pain wracks the body of anyone who grasps the Heavy Burden save for Errol and those he willingly gives the weapon. Furthermore, Errol can will it to use its abilities even when he isn't wielding it.
- Weight of Guilt - Errol has some measure of control over the weight of the Burden. When he is not mindful of this effect, the Burden's weight is based on his mood. When he turns his mind to it he can either half the weight of the weapon or make it almost immovably heavy until he physically lifts it. [Lvl 3 HW]
The Negotiator - A rippled dagger of layered iron, designed to appear somewhat like a wind blown leaf. Behaves in exactly the way you would expect a metal blade to. [Modifier 3]

Other Items and Accessories
The Bag - A ancient looking woven bag, covered in pockets and numerous interwoven enveloping runes. Once per quest, Errol may reach into one of the bag's pockets and pull out exactly the item he's looking for, with the caveat that due to age, misuse or just poor quality, the mundane item will have no value or hidden meaning.

Gold: 40

Well, you still have 2 minors left!

On Harmonic: Could you put [Harmonic Lvl 2] or some variant that makes it clear that Ties that Bind is three levels of harmonic? And some mention that Harmonic Weapon has altered his appearance? Also noting your level in it. I can understand what is going on, but I don't want to confuse new people.

Same for the weapon, [Harmonic 1], [Harmonic 3], etc.

Anyway, other than that everything is good. Nice sense!

Alright, based on the cbox discussion the last remaining minor is going to be saved for a later time (not in the middle of a quest or whatever). I'm okay with that.

Therefore.. approved! *Stamp*
