"But was he dead before you met him?"

Noah yawned again clearly tired, "I did not kill him if that is what your asking." V smiles, but since he is a shadow, Golan can't see it.

"Okay, good. I would hate to sew up a vagabond good for nothing lowlife."

Golan came back with a fresh shirt.

"You can keep this one too. It's a collectible item that my coworker paid good money for with the image of a popular character, but I've never heard of him, so you can have it.Make sure to get a good nights sleep, and don't let your weird shadow person take control of your body while you're sleeping!"

Golan went upstairs, to her room.

Noah thanks her, and after she goes upstairs he changes his shirt, looks around looking for a place to sleep and spots a lounge chair. He walks over to it and curls up in it and falls asleep. While sleeping his dreams get invaded by V. His dream turns into a nightmare which seems like someone's memory, there is talking, everything is dark, and it feels suffocating, he feels empty somehow, and suddenly a man screaming. Noah jolts awake covered in cold sweat, his eyes dart around and he takes deep breathes as he realizes it is now morning and he is actually awake. "Good Morning. You look like crap." Noah sighs and sasses back to V, "No thanks to you."

When he wakes up, he finds some paper and chalk on a nearby table, with a note.

"Gone to the local sheriffs for up-to-date bounties. Be back eventually. Feel free to leave. Don't steal anything. But you wouldn't steal, you aren't a thief. I know because you told me so. Wait, do Thieves lie? Or is that something else? Ah well, too late now, I'm already gone by the time you read this note. Have a good life."

Noah smiles as writes back at the bottom of the note. "Thank you for everything! -Noah & V" He then writes on his paper "Will work for house and board." And on the other side he wrote "In need of a good home." He sighed and put his armor on, and his tonfas back onto the straps on his back. He reached into his pocket and put a handful of coins on the table. "I wish I could do more for her. She helped us alot.." "One day you can, until then, let us go find a place to stay for awhile. We should not bother her any longer. Noah nodded, grabbed the paper and walked out the front door, closing it behind him. He walked down the street to the stables where Finnigan greeted him excitedly. Finnigan laid down and Noah got up on top of his back. Finnigan stood back up and began walking off towards the farmlands. Without any need for directions.

A half hour passed before a quartet of new arrivals entered the inn and walked directly to the counter. Two of the four looked fairly normal, albeit with a bit of.. an edge to them. The remaining two, however, were a young man and a woman draped in dark robes and long sleeved clothing rather inappropriate for the the day's heat. Although they had their hoods up and shadows obscuring their faces, Golan could see bandages around the base of their necks as they drew closer. The bandages were blue and purple, respectively.

The woman spoke first, dispelling her shadows to reveal a nice enough face. Her voice was likewise pleasant, her tones carefully laced with sympathy and dab of compassion. "We're looking for a lost boy who claims a ghost is possessing his shadow. Have you seen the poor child?"

Golan was behind the bar, wiping a glass (This is where Golan will always be when someone enters, it's mysterious bar magic. don't ask questions). She puts the glass down and eyes the group suspiciously.

"Hmmm.... Maybe. But questions are for paying customers. Here's a menu."

Golan suspiciously handed the group a pair of menus to share. She especially kept an eye on the normal looking ones, because she could see them regularly.

The normal looking duo took the menus. One of them continued to try his best to look sufficiently disinterested but the other was far too hungry to bother. "The two of us will have some kind of meat and the special. Do you have bread, I would kill for some bread." The disinterested man elbows the speaker. "I meant metaphorically. I am, in fact, very much against killing." The cloaked woman sighs.

"I'll have the pea soup." interjects the still-shadowy man. The woman chimes in as well, noting "I will also have the soup. I owe it to the boy's older sister... well, perhaps he wouldn't know he had one.. but I still owe it to her to help him a bit. I do hope you'll be able to point us in the right direction."

"Golan tried to remain silent and take their order, but she noticeably perked up at the mention of an older sister.

"I'll be right back with some soup. Think it's too early for a drink? It's not like Drunk Driving is a thing yet*."

Golan walked into the kitchen to fetch bread and soup and decide whether to tell the group the truth, and if not, how much to lie about.
