As he turned to pass back through the house, he passed by the office where he rotated the desk to reveal the secrets on his way to basement.
While scanning for minds, there was roughly the same amount in the area as before. No one at present seemed to be approaching the house.
As he got down there the drawer had apparently stopped bubbling. The liquid seems to have retracted back into the drawer to be a reset to the trap. Inside the drawer are still the papers. Something else nibbled at his mind. Charlie had asked him for something more.
