[Past] Look at that!

He extended his hand to Sven in what he hoped would be a returned handshake. "Welcome to the group."

Cassidy usually has horrible timing, but it seems she was finally able to muster up some luck. Only several yards nearby, she found herself placing her clenched fist against the face of a man in a violent yet calm manner. She was slapped on her lower section with a sexual connotation so Cassidy struck the man high with an aggressive connotation—right into his cheekbone. The altercation happened so quickly that Cass didn’t even realize that there were several men in attendance of the punch—mostly inebriated—rushing to their friend’s aid.

Her shadowtwin playfully chided Cass with some internal dialogue for reacting without looking. Not that Cass was much for thinking before acting, but she begrudgingly admitted her fault out loud as she attempted to move away from the incident.

“Tch. I know, I know.”

Throwing up her hood to make it harder for the men to identify her, the commotion on the street was simply too good to pass up. Cass immediately slipped through a few people, wrapping her one arm around Querida’s shoulder in a familiar embrace. Of course, Cass didn’t know Querida at all, but it helped her blend into the situation a bit more. Cass assumed that Querida would be a bit put off by some random woman coming up and being so friendly, so she immediately explained what was going on. In this life or the last, she was never very good at lying.

”I know you don’t know me but I’m trying to hide from a man back there who I punched in the face. Trust me, he deserved it, but I’m not interested in taking on half the drunks in this place and getting arrested for it in the process. Can I hang on you for a moment?”

Querida looked towards Cassidy with a smile. Not one hour into her new life as an adventurer and random people were already asking her for help and randomly sharing their vengeance quest plans with her. Was this luck? Or was it just how things were in the capital?

"Of course! Your good friend Querida's got some time free - in fact, let's help you out a bit~" The woman glances back to see if any pursuers are already watching. She had yet to see a stealthy drunk, and hoped today would not be an exception. Satisfied with her glance, Querida glanced back towards Cassidy's jacket, manipulating the light with a thought to temporarily paint the back and sides a muted brown. It wasn't a very fashionable coloring, but it was certainly an unassuming one.

"Heading anywhere specific?"

While this was going on, the donkey owner had ceased glaring at the group (he had not responded to Jeb, aside from some angry mumbling, but the healer's words had at least prevented things from escalating), and had begun trying to haul his donkey back.

Until it kicked him, that is. The resulting spectacle of rage and colorful profanity surely made for quite the distraction for those trying to sneak around the crowed.

With a wince, Jebidiah looked to the man that got kicked. To avoid more anger, he aimed a numb spell at the area the man got kicked. "That looks like it hurt. Do you need a doctor? Or are you perhaps ok?" Really, he was just hoping the man would be satisfied and leave. He was likely going to be wrong in his hope, but he was eternally hopeful.

Cassidy smiled and let out a sigh of relief that her embrace was so warmly welcomed—not everyone would be okay with a random stranger glomping their personal bubble. This woman was all kinds of alright.

But that feeling only lasted for a second, and as Querida glanced behind to see if anyone was following, Cass furrowed her brow in confusion and caution—the woman called her “good friend” and decided to help her immediately? Not that everyone is working an angle, and Cass does sometimes forget that she is an attractive woman—well, attractive in her opinion at least. Maybe Querida was enjoying the view? Maybe she was just really, really nice? What were the odds?

Cass’s facial expression quickly morphed into a wide smile as Querida looked at her again, realizing that she was making an odd look. As the woman regarded Cass’s coat, she too looked down and saw the shift in coloring, removing her arm from Querida’s shoulder and pulling at the material lightly and studying it. Despite knowing some magic, Cass hardly ever consciously thought of it—her shadowtwin did more of that for her.

She looked up at Querida and gave her an admirable expression for helping her blend into the background better.

”I’m headed toward money, if that’s a direction. And away from this place for a little bit. Why, where are you—“

Cass was cut off by the donkey owner weaving a magical combination of curses that would make one hell of an ugly tapestry. Without making herself stand out too much, she bobbed and dipped her head to get a clearer view of whatever was currently going on. Turning her head slightly in Querida’s direction but keeping her eyes forward, Cass spoke softly.

”Wow. Guy must’ve sat on a sword or something.”

Querida noded and returns the whisper "I don't think I've ever heard someone fit 'dyspeptic' into a string of swears before... I should probably be taking notes..."

She turned back towards Cassidy "Well, maybe next time. I would call money a direction, although it often leads one to stay in the same place. The dream of it leads elsewhere, but the merchant eventually gets the bulk of any explorer's coin, I'd say. It's a fine direction, but I'm currently aiming for more of an adventure. She points towards Mora and the meandering animals."She's hunting someone that hurt a member of her family, we're tagging along to try and make her journey a less dangerous one." Querida nods her head towards Sven and the others. "If you want to leave this place for awhile you can travel with us - we're only setting out to piss off one man instead of a room full of them."

Querida briefly wondered if she was doing the smart thing here, but cast the notion aside. Opportunity was practically throwing things at her at this point, it'd almost be rude not to play along. Even without that, the elation at finally living her youthful fantasies was a welcome change from the several undersea weeks she'd spent mourning lost relatives.

The man whipped his head towards Jeb. The numbing appeared to have helped, but between his tears and red, rage-filled face one might confuse him for a man that had just chugged a gallon of hotsauce. "NO. I AM NOT OKAY. DO YOU HAVE A CURE FOR THIS ASS?" screamed the man as he pointed towards the disobedient donkey.

The man's companions are too busy laughing to help.

"The obvious answer would be to get rid of it. Perhaps someone is looking to buy a pack animal? That or try to be nicer to it and show it that you can be a friend." Jebidiah answered seemingly serious and ignoring the sarcasm in he man's tone.

Just as all the animals were arriving, and Luce only stayed for a moment for Sven to see him to chase down a deer or two, the shifter watched as a gripey man appeared on a donkey and another female had come from nowhere, looking for someone to stay with to save her hide in case a group of pissy drunkards came by. An unamuzed watch spectated all that happened in a matter of minutes, the man getting kicked and the stranger joining the band. The white-haired lady rubbed her head at the other humans who were laughing at the injured one that Jeb and his little thingy were tending to. <b>"Don't you humans do anything other than be jackasses all day? The donkey is less of one than the likes of you all. Hmph, laughing at pain. At home, when someone is hurt, you help anyway you can, but I wouldn't expect anything less from powerless rat chasers."</b> Those men reminded her of why he and Jebidiah were doing what they were: to get revenge on the one who thought it was funny to hurt the pack's comedian!

Rage boiled, when a bark-- two barks interrupting one another were coming back from the horizon. <i>{Mora!!! Mora!! We g-} [It was in the bag, truly. A pair large enou--]{Would you mind?! I'm trying to talk to my sister!} [Nothing much to talk about; she sees the deer, Doofus.]{Doofu--?!!?! You're gonna pay for that when we get done with Iron!!!}</i> The hourglassed figure rushed to the bickering canines, hearing them speak through her individual song and strange way of her upbringing. The albino and hazy wolves left the meat to be dealt with the others while they showered her wih wet kisses and their side of the hunt story.

<b>"Okay, okay! Settle down you two. Yhare, why are you here?" </b> The albino looked at the humans, and other shifter, and donkey near-by before speaking to her, still unsure of how her sky songy thing works. <i>[ Takoma wanted me to make sure you were still alive. Wow, that one is-a HOLLERIN'!!!! Can I eat him to end his misery? Pleeeeeaaase!?]</i> Purple eyes look at Yhare with a stare that said, 'Silly goose.' before reasoning with him. <b>"No, you can't eat him. However you can can share some deer with us and tell Nana that I'm fine. These guys are no threat to me."</b> Mora's hands playfully grab either sides of his head and shake it, like a young kid who has had his first pet. The white and pink dog rlled his eyes and dragged the doe to the middle of a flatter area when her darkened brother dragged he buck behind him.

Grasping their attention each by tapping them, she told everyone it might be best to make camp here and stay the night. Let everyone rest up a bit and give Yhare time to eat up and tell the grandmother figure to keep pleasing the spirits watching over them, because they were doing one <i>heck</i> of a gaurding job.
