Rand M. Guardman
Race: Human
Age: 22
Height: 6' 6"
Strength: Very Strong
Appearance and Apparel: Randall is a tall young man with an athletic build and body shape. His mahogany hair is pulled back in a shoulder length pony tail, tied with a strip of black leather. This makes his sharp features seem a little sharper and causes his grey eyes to seem colder than they really are. His normal apparel is a simple grey shirt, worn loosely but secured against snags by good tailoring. His black cotton trousers obey a similar design sentiment, minimizing loose cloth. His boots and belt are both rather worn looking black leather, cracks visible in their frankly aging and battered surfaces. Randall's ensemble is capped with a short sleeved leather jacket which appears to have been somehow gilded and a pair of fingerless leather gloves prepared in the same gaudy manner.
Background: The Guardman family is something of a joke among the nobility of Tiburon. During a period of time when elevation to the elite was more than just a pipe dream, the Guardman family rose. They rose to wealth and prosperity on the success of their mercenary dealings, shaping what would become the Tiburon Guard. However, since many member of their family were martially inclined and worked within their business as foot soldiers and captain's they were looked down on by the oligarchs. So it was that although they were bound to offer a position of nobility, they also took great pleasure in accepting a mistake in the families paperwork. A simple misplacement of the terms for 'means of acquiring wealth' and 'family name' was allowed to stand because it still, made sense. The first Lord Guardman was a proud and stubborn man who refused to be put down by the intentional snubbing, elevation his troops to a position that Tiburon Guardsman were often able to find work as leaders in almost any military or peacekeeping force in Avarka, with enough experience. Many, many years later, the Guardman family is much more cemented but no less of a joke. Members tend to either be incredibly resentful of their lost family name or lean in on the collective joke, like Randall's mother. Randall isn't sure where he stands in this regard, but he is the first member of his family in some time to be aspected, let alone doubly so. He rose through the ranks of the Tiburon Guard in short order, eventually deciding to take some time away from his squad and explore the limits of his abilities elsewhere.
Aspects, Talents and Skills
I am a Legion - Randall likes to think that he has all the potential of his family inside of him; what he actually has inside of him is too much blood and bone.
- Randall's aspect allows him an additional summon slot for use solely with Body spells, in addition any of his slots can be used to maintain level 2 or lower effects on himself.
- 0 - Your bones naturally knit themselves back together and your flesh parts to make way for bone. You are not harmed by the movement of your bones and any fractures you suffer tend to heal overnight. You cannot die from blood loss, although you find losing blood tiring.
- 1 - You may extend from one of your forearms a thick, solid bone truncheon two feet in length. You may extend or retract the weapon at will, the process taking only a few seconds.
- 2 - Your blood can emerge from your arms and hands, with average strength, whenever you desire. You can roughly exercise control over this blood (and any of your blood spilled since the end of your last post) for one post, forming whips and the like, but such blood cannot be further shaped while touching another creature (so you could form a whip but you couldn't then hit someone with the whip and flow it into a mask).
- 3 - Your bones harden, becoming as strong as stone. You can extend your bones to create skull-like plating over your arms, shoulders, neck, and back.
- 4 - Your bone weapon can be removed from your arm at your will, allowing you to use it more fluidly. You may replace them by pressing it into the flesh of your forearm, or by regrowing it entirely (a tiring process if done several times in rapid succession).
We are the Legion - In Randall's short career with the Tiburon Guard he led a small team with whom he became incredibly close. While these men may not be aspected or magically inclined they have a degree of martial skill that makes them useful allies. While in Tiburon or the surrounding areas, Randall may call on two or three of his former squad to perform tasks in keeping with their duties as Guards, be it securing an area against entry, tracking someone down or intercepting criminals. These tasks will almost always be ancillary to the main task, but may be invaluable in Randall's own success.
Guardman by Name - Randall is, even if only technically, a Tiburon noble. He cannot be refused entry to any location or event that does so on grounds of social caste. He may not be welcomed but he will be allowed entry.
Guardman by Nature - Randall is a warrior prodigy, focusing on the Mountain Style of martial combat. [0 Battle Posts]
- Randall is proficient in Martial Stances and Techniques; warrior techniques come to him more quickly than others.
- Randall has acrobatics training, improving his balance and co-ordination to the point of being able to perform complex manoeuvres with focus.
- 0 - The first thing you need to be in the way is the ability to stay there. You possess the equivalent of strength training.
Spells and Magic
Body Magic
- 1 - Slash - Thicken and elongate some/all of your nails into talon-like claws.
- 2 - Feel - Boost your body's physical sensitivity, enhancing your sense of touch.
- 3 - Weaken - Command a target's blood to avoid their muscles, lowering their strength and causing them to ache. Can only be used once on a person at any given time.
- 4 - Arena Champion - You become a foot taller and more muscular. Your strength increases by a level and injuries that would take hours to heal seal up in minutes. You cannot cast or maintain Spells or summonings as long as you maintain this effect or for a post after.
Armour, Items and Accessories
Deep Pockets - Randall's gilded jacket is runed with magically spun gold thread, allowing it to perform two exceptional feats. It's pockets acts as though they have enveloping runes and the jacket itself can transform into magical gold for no fewer than two posts, providing protection at the expense of severely limiting movement. [Modifier 1; Modifier 3 in Gold Form]
All That Glitters - Randall's gloves are runed with magically spun fools gold, visually indistinguishable from the material of his jacket. Anything that is currently being effected by spells or temporary magical effects is tarnished and stained green by prolonged touch, the stain is long lasting but comes away easily with water or friction.
