[Outer Verto] [U] The Hazy Memory
#1
Located near the third bridge between the inner and outer rings of Verto. The Hazy Memory is often visited by those of less than stellar mental constitution before they venture into the city proper. What better way to handle the bizarre sights ahead than to alter your mind in preparation.

The building itself is fairly unremarkable, a granite dome with a short spire veined with quartz. Inside the establishment always smells of something distinctive, be it spice, fruit or occasionally something more esoteric. Filled with pillows, throws and whatever tools are necessary for utilising their wares. The Hazy Memory contains far more rooms in its diminutive dome than it has any right to, and most of them over look the prismatic lake below.

The proprietors of the Hazy Memory have an assortment of different roots, draughts, pills and pipes to suit any kind of outing. One could prepare for any manner of meeting within Verto... or simply pass the time.

Note: As a thread describing a public location, it's generally assumed people can freely enter and leave the thread as they go about their business. When making a new public location, it is fine to double post in order to have the initial post only describe the location. This helps in the long run, as you might want to edit in more information as various NPCs that work/frequent the location are described by others.

Hearing the call for investigators of burglary, the shadow thief himself figured he would be a decent fit. Maybe he could reverse the theft and increase his own pocket linings. He wandered around until he found the place mentioned on the notice. Seeing it, he adjusts his clothing that is desert appropriate as he will never be used to defined clothing, and slips inside. Grabbing a drink he looks around trying to find the proprietor that was robbed. He asked the barkeep and was directed towards a table. He slid in and raised his glass in greeting. "What does you woe, does me well. How may I be of assistance?"

He found a short, portly looking man with lime green hair and matching eyes. He was dressed in silver trimmed grey robes, stained with smudges of black. The table he was tucked away at was set with a hookah, bubbling away with a rose coloured liquid that produced a dusty rose smoke.

"Smooth introduction. Little creepy, but smooth. Well met." the man said as a drop of smoke escaped his lips.

Kage simply nodded in acceptance. It was basically the response he was going for anyway. "Greetings aside, I am intrigued by your missive. What kind of work do you do in your workshop?" He figured he could wait for others before digging into the job.

The man took another deep breath in before answering, filling the space between himself and the thief with more smoke.

"I dabble with the forces that bind things together. Have you ever wondered why trees grow in one spot but earth seems to need forcing into shape to form rock? How many things you can get to flow like water if you try hard enough?" Skaylen said, laboriously.

From the next table a loud yawn echoed out, shortly followed by a snort.

"Blight, how much of that stuff have you smoked?" came a voice over the divider between booths. It was shortly followed by a face framed by a tangled mass of ebony hair. The young looking woman grinned and glanced between Kage and Skaylen a few times.

Kage maintained Skein as the other man kept puffing away. It takes forever to get smoke out of his fur. "I am familiar with forces of binding. Never wondered about the trees and rocks, though making everything flow like water is something I have experienced.

Though, it is nice to see you again Lilly."
He gave her a cordial wave.

"You too, Kitten." she replied with a wink.

Lilly ducked out of few and appeared a moment later perched on the edge of their now shared table.

"So, Skaylen, right? Why are you here and not actually at your workshop?" she asked.

"Oh! Yes, I suppose that's a fair question. I'm a nervous tidier... and a nervous untidier... I move things about when I'm agitated." Skaylen said, allowing his fingers to drum on the table.

Kage let her call him kitten, mostly because he didn't feel like contemplating what her wink meant. Time for business, not play. "I appreciate that you chose to not destroy the scene you asked us to investigate. Well, what do you know about what happened? May as well get started with some details before we go into exactly what you want done."
