Darby also showed up, clearly winded.
"Man, the way that hunt ended was just amazing! Totally surprising, and extremely entertaining! If it were a story that someone had written, I would give them a prize of some sort."

"Umm, okay?" Nathan said, thrown off by the strange trio that stands before him.
"How about before we get into any work or 'trait grafting', we sit down and grab a pint? Lord knows I do." he said, trying to be friendly.
"By the way, is there any more coming, or is this all of your group?" Nathan said, having a feeling that there is more people to come.

Jebidiah simply chuckled at the man. "That is about the usual response I get, don't feel bad. But I woulnd't mind a bite to get better acquainted over. As for others, there were a few more that were hunting. If they feel like following us they will. But I am not their keeper and do not need to worry over them. Come, let us eat." He smiled cheerfully as he proceeded through the gate procedures towards an inn.

An angular faced woman with silver eyes trudged up to the gates where the group were gathered. She looked tired, probably from hefting around the large crossbow that hung over her back, but was smiling and didn't appear to be dragging her heels.
"Quite a crowd we have here." she said as she drew near, silver eyes flicking from figure to figure.

Beyond the gate lay a single, 30' wide road. An additional cleared area, about 40' in length, extends the right side for use by barracks, inns, and other trading posts and rest stops that periodically mark the path. The left side simply consists of a simple yet refined 10' high fence of wood and glass seemingly built to allow one to view the forest without risking any animals getting stuck in it. The far right has a similar fence. Both fences have doors every few hundred feet, but these exits are both locked and festooned with warnings that one cannot use the doors without a permission sigil.
A guard helpfully explains - it appears that whenever Fovaros expands the city walls, it does so by adding an additional pair of "growth" rings, somewhat like a tree. The smaller of the two rings is used as living space, while the larger is kept as a permanent nature preserve. Before them lies the second preserver ring, which stretches a few miles before the first true city area. The preserve itself also includes military fortifications, specialized logging paths, farming areas, and other utility structures but the specifics of such things are not so easily shared to outsiders.

The first inn can be seen in the distance - it won't be a long walk. Even shorter if they rode a Equiphant like that man barreling down the path in their direction. He lets out an exasperated shout, his eyes clearly focused on the entrance.
"*pant* He's probably already at the gate..!!"
The rider's fine clothing, likely those of an elite servant, bears the crest of House Cyprien.

Agnes' eyes narrowed as she turned to look at the barrelling equiphant and its puffing rider.
"I believe we all might want to move." Agnes announced loudly, directing her voice towards the gate guards and gesturing toward the incoming rider.

Noticing the Cyprien crest, Nathan guesses that this person might be looking for him. Nathan wonders how important his letter is to House Cyprien for THEM to send someone to get him. Nathan goes to stand next to the gate, but in a way that would allow others to go through.
"What are you in a rush for? Are you looking for someone?" Nathan directs towards the rider.

(Pretend I'm using Darby's account)
Darby saw the charging Equiphant and knows better than to stand anywhere near the area it seems to be charging towards. He moves horizontally to put at least one tree between him and the beast.

"I am indeed! I mus- wait!" The surprised rider quickly motions for the equiphant to stop. The obedient mount responds instantly to the man's sudden tugging of the reins. Too quickly, in fact - both mount and rider nearly topple over!
The rider gasps for air as he straightens himself out. He lets out a brief laugh before turning to Nathan.
"You are Mr. Urusade, I presume? Your teacher has mentioned you to our lord on many an occasion!"

"That is quite the equipment there. Welcome to our gathering of people who want to do something!" Jebidiah said in a jovial manner. When the rider came he did step aside. As it stopped, he was going to offer aid, but it seemed that he had a mission. He waited to see if his companion felt like identifying himself. His companion also slipped higher on his list of interesting people.
