[Past] [Tiburon] North Beach
#41
Havarti smiles, a tad surprised, but still happy none the less. "Of course, although I must warn, I do not have as much training as the others in my village would. They are much better than I." Havarti takes off his shoes and transforms into his shifter form and stands up. His antlers almost touch the tree branches. His eyes flickering a burning red. He holds his arm out facing the the sand on the beach so he does not light anything on fire nearby and summons a crackling ball of fire in his hand. It seems to sound and act more like a roaring crackling firepit than a solid sphere of fire as sparks are dancing above it. Havarti then aims towards the sand and sends the ball of fire towards it. The ball lands on the sand before sending multiple small explosions (much like small fireworks) followed by a bang as the fireball exploded and sended sand everywhere. "In my village we were taught, if possible use your form at all times during any magical spell. It was said to make it stronger and for you to be able to relate to the element more, relate to nature more. Not sure if it is true but my other magic really seems to make it seem that way. "

Jacob almost immediately began sketching in his journal and making notes alongside the sketch.

"That's a very holistic approach. Sounds plausible enough as well, a connection to the spiritual could easily enhance a connection to the magical." Jacob said, before looking up from the journal.

"See, I'd guessed shifter, but the antlers are a surprise."

Havarti nods, slightly embarrassed at his perceived lack of skill. He sits back down and crosses his hooves and scratches his head and deer ears. "Heh yeah, I have been told a few times that my kind are rare around these parts. Sorry for the surprise." Beau affectionately rubs his antlers against Havarti's. "Heh you are a strange one Beau... Fire is only part of my magic though. I inherited another aspect, from my fathers side, and due to that I have began to age slowly.. And heal faster. And I can do this apparently... " Havarti motions with one hand and successfully weaves a blanket of vines that seems to have grown from the ground and then he forms it into a basket.

"Never apologise for being yourself... you know I think that fireball was stronger than other one's I've seen cast. You seem to have a firm grasp on vital magics too. You're an impressive mage, Havarti." Jacob said earnestly, admiring the weave work.

Havarti smiles and seems a bit embarrassed. "That is very high praise to have come from someone as knowledable as yourself. Thank you. I can firmly say that I have not met such a person as knowledgeable as you are about spells and arts, you are very wise and kind. So.. What made you interested in learning different arts and creating spells of your own?

"I was always interested in magic, grew up in a very magical family. My uncle gave me a pair of glasses when I was little that let me see magic. I've kind of been immersed in it for as long as I can remember." Jacob shrugged.

Havarti's eyes widen, "Wait wait wait! You can see magic? I am assuming it is different than just visualizing a fireball in my hand. But how? I have never heard such a thing. Please.. Don't tell me this is common and I have missed something like this for four years. THAT would be embarrassing if it was a common object but since Jacob's uncle gave it to him then that meant it must be a very unique object.

Jacob rummaged around in his bundle and pulled out a pair of spectacles made with silver glass.

"Only pair I've ever seen, Falthor said he won them in a game of cards with an umbral mage." he said, holding out the glasses, "Give them a go."

Havarti almost gasps with excitement and he gingerly takes them and looks at them closely. "These are beautiful! I bet Falthor felt like he won a million coins when he got this!" He changes out of shifter form and puts the glasses on carefully and looks at Jacob.

Jacob completely normal through the glasses, save for a lack of saturation that was present everywhere through the glasses. The mage reached out and snapped his fingers. An arc of crimson shot out from his fingers and shot out into the air, terminating in a spot in the middle of the air where there was a tiny spark. Then he reached out for his staff and Havarti saw a grey haze surround it as it floated up towards Jacob's outstretched hand.
