[Malber] [U] The Watering Hole

Drevin swallowed his current mouthful and shrugged. "Has the added bonus of likely giving us time to rest when we arrive."

Arl had been nodded along with the conversation. This was a good group! She was pleased by the sorts of questions being asked, and the answers were intriguing. Still, it high time she joined the conversation herself. The woman reluctantly stops devouring the steak and rice, setting her shovel fork on the table (it had been two weeks since the last time she had decent meat, much less a delectable steak).

"Three hours away... in what direction?"

"As I understand it, on the way from here. Some of the people here say they stopped at the stream to clean their wounds." Randall responded.

"I see.  So we needn't worry about running into them while heading towards it? Aside from the chance of them heading straight to this town, anyway.." Arl takes another swig of water and a bite of steak before continuing, relying on great personal willpower to continue after just that.

"On wagons, could we convince someone to take us half the way? Or even a quarter? I understand them wanting to stay out of danger but helping us get there quicker helps them!" A piece of steak finds itself on Arl's fork, the morsel waved around in mimicry of a wagon traveling across her plate. We manage the wagon during the day, they ride though the most the night, and we walk the last few hours before the break of dawn. They'd only be even remotely close to the town in the middle of the night!"

"Good idea... that might be just enough to convince them..." Randall took a swig of his drink and got up. He left the trio to talk amongst themselves, disappearing through the crowd of refugees.

Drevin, not being particularly social and already having offered his opinion, continued to eat his meal.

Riesig ate slowly as he waited for Rand to talk to the refugees. He turned to address the table as he did. "So, what do you guys do for entertainment?" He hoped the responses would be fun to listen to.

Drevin swallowed a large mouthful. "Your guess is as good as mine." He probably could have provided further explanation but apparently he wasn't the over sharing type. He was learning new things about himself all the time.

Arl makes a leaf folding motion with her hands "Leaf origami! I can show you sometime if you're interested." The cheerful woman glances Devin's way, squinting in thought as she sizes the man up. "I guess.. you like fighting? I like that too, although I'm not fond of harming people."

Riesig just looks at the odd man. "Easy fellow. No need to get defensive. But I would have to agree with her. Your probably enjoy fighting of some kind. The origami sounds like it might be interesting to see. I like to watch things burn or be eroded by water." He maintained the conversational tone as though he thought it was common that people like to burn things.
